Rachel Tan is a member of the practice’s Corporate Department.

Rachel has a substantial depth of experience in mergers and acquisitions, including joint venture and venture capital investments.  She has advised extensively on the structuring and financing of such transactions.  Her experience includes having represented clients in a number of Asian cross-border transactions, including Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Thailand.  She also has considerable experience in corporate and debt restructuring, as well as the structuring and documentation of loan transactions and debt instruments, and in project financing.

Rachel is admitted in Australia (Australian Capital Territory – 1991, Queensland – 1992 and New South Wales – 1993), New York (2000) and England and Wales (2003).  Besides her BA/LLB (Hons) from the Australian National University, Rachel also holds a BCL (Hons) from the University of Oxford.

Rachel has taught in several Australian universities, edited various academic and professional law journals such as the Journal of Banking & Finance Law & Practice, and wrote the section on mergers and acquisitions for Butterworths Forms and Precedents, Singapore. 

She has previously worked with major Australian, US and UK based firms with an international presence.

Rachel speaks English, Mandarin and a number of Chinese dialects.
